Because I am not cruel enough to leave you with only the last link, have some shiny badges. I've listed just a few of the badges I've earned:
* The “I’m a freaking rock star who sings about science!” badge - for nearly presenting a song about the diplodocus to the tune of "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" written by one of my best friends. I'll still hum this on to myself on occasion.
* The “somewhat confused as to what scientific field I actually belong to” badge - if you're surprised, you probably don't know me.
* The “experienced with electrical shock” badge (LEVEL III) - though to be fair, it wasn't in the name of science, but unfortunately that "Electronics don't belong in water" was a more immediate thought than "Don't touch electronics that are in water".
* If you squint a little, The “I actually grew up AND became a marine biologist” badge - sure didn't see this one coming.

Date: 2008-02-11 10:31 pm (UTC)I do not want the "experienced with electrical shock" badger.
I thought one could grow up or become a marine biologist, but not both.

Date: 2008-02-11 10:46 pm (UTC)"Has frozen stuff just to see what happens" (LEVEL III) -- we actually did this in one of my physics classes on the last day.
"I bet I know more computer languages than you, and I’m not afraid to talk about it" -- I know a lot of people who qualify for this one. ^_^
"Experienced with electrical shock" (LEVEL III) -- Surprised you have to go all the way to 3 for just shocking yourself... I've done this at least twice, and one of them involved a fairly dumb idea! :-D
"Totally digs highly exothermic reactions" -- I don't really see what "merit" is involved here... but I dig 'em!
"Somewhat confused as to what scientific field I actually belong to" -- Or should belong to: I do computer "science", but I've been feeling recently like I really should have been a physicist.
"I may look like a scientist, but I’m actually also a pirate" -- I think you should have this one too.
I think I can also claim the fire one (level 1), but it just doesn't feel right because I think _everyone_ I know has set fire to something for fun, and I can't say it was particularly in the name of science, except insofar as all vague pyromaniacal curiosity is in the name of science. :-D
