Another book recommendation

If you're at all interested in architecture or community design, you should take a look at "A Pattern Language" by Christoper Alexander. It's a book of 253 "patterns" which range in scale from appropriate distribution of cities and towns through how to make a roof line to the importance of waist-high shelves. The scope and the way the patterns are integrated with each other makes for an amazing overall book.
