Update of Trip!
May. 25th, 2005 10:22 pmValley of Alcohol! Napa valley was very pretty and full of wineries. We made it to three of them, and in the process, acquired even *more* alcohol to stuff in the trunk somehow. One of these days we're going to get rid of the camping gear, and what a beautiful day it will be.
State of Casinos! The jaunt through Nevada consisted largely of realizing how sleezy casinos could get. In my estimation, the combination gas-station/casion beat out the rest.
Dunes of Sand! We found sand dunes! We ran down steep slopes of sand, sharper than some say. Much wandering in the desert occured.
Stone of Yellow! The park was lovely. The three days each got their own theme. The first night was "Buffalo Jam", the night where we saw, and were stuck behind lots of thrilling and traffic blocking wild animals. The second day was "Hydrothermal features", in which we saw the many ways water can behave strangely in a national park. The third day was "Tall things and the water that falls for them", also known as Yellowstone Canyon and assorted waterfalls. The fourth day was "No sleeping in Wyoming", a goal we failed to meet but that involved rather a lot of driving from one border to the other.
Internet of Silly! It turns out, the cheapest internet we had available involved calling long distance on a calling card to use a local dialup connection in another state. Yes, this *was* a good idea. No, really. I swear.
Cave of Awesome! I have a new goal/plan/grand vision/project for my spare time. I'm going to explore Wind Cave and find new and exciting stuff! It is sooooooo great. Very great. Happy fun shiny. ::bounce::
Dinner of Despair! Every bit of dinner that could go wrong, did. Except the part that was breakfast the next day, though there is still time.
