Sometimes you feel like an update
Jul. 2nd, 2004 02:49 amNew stuff happening with me:
I've got my hand back. It is 90% better, I'm out of cast and out of splint, and have been deemed healed enough that I will be able to go whitewater rafting!
I had a major day of getting stuff done Wednesday. As it turns out, only 2 of the 3 are really done, but that is enough. The third is fighting me, and my partner in ...harmless actvities..., tooth and nail. It *will* succumb by tomorrow.
I finally set the pattern, warped my inkle loom and started the first of my trade-belts. The colors and pattern don't give exactly the effect I was looking for, so I may go ahead and create a second, and let the recipient choose. I also helped pick colors for a second trade-belt, and will tomorrow go pick out the yarn for the scarf I'm getting in exchange. If others are interested in strips of cloth between ~1/2 inch and ~3 inches, suitable for belts, guitar straps or other random uses, with the color scheme of their choice, and has some suitable craft/object to offer in exchange, I'm willing to listen. (Though it might be a while before I have time to finish it.)
Camp is coming! I was hit by a wave of homesickness for camp today, and the feeling of anticipation has been growing steadily. There is still the balancing act between anticipation and panic, as deadlines to finish work also loom. It will all work out, and I'm looking forward to camp a whole lot. I do want to try to get at least a day or two without any work for camp, though, as I want to come energetic and refreshed, not tired from the preparation work. If things go well, I may even be able to do so.
