Two bits of news

News the first: My computer is quite sad at the moment. With a great deal of help, it is willing to boot into regular (ie, not safe) mode. It is not yet willing to do so when the ethernet card is in place. The issue appears to be a hardware one, though it might still be something weird with the drivers we haven't figured out. I hope to be able to at least get documents off this thing, and ideally not by transferring them all via floppy disks.

News the second: I'm not going to worry about my computer until Monday, or maybe Sunday evening. I will instead fly away and think mathematical biology thoughts. Yes, I'm going to a conference... IN TEXAS! (No, Texas is not that exciting. It still needs to have that inflection.)

The main point of all this is that I will be out of internet contact until at least Sunday night, but hopefully not long after that.
